The International Skating Union announced today athlete assignments for the 2023 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series with 39 skaters set to represent Team USA at six international stops.
The 2023 Grand Prix Series kicks off Oct. 20-22 at Skate America in Allen, Texas. Headlining for Team USA will be three reigning U.S. champions, including 2023 World champions
Madison Chock and Evan Bates, who won Skate America last season and have earned 16 career Grand Prix medals.
Ilia Malinin and
Isabeau Levito will also compete in Texas. Last season, Malinin became the youngest Skate America champion in history and ended the 2022-23 season as a World bronze medalist, while Levito will enter the season as the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final 2022 silver medalist.
Tickets for Skate America go on sale to the public in July.
The Grand Prix Series incorporates six international figure skating competitions as a unified point-scoring series that awards prize money to eligible skaters. At the conclusion of the series, athletes' points are totaled, and the top six women, men, pairs and ice dance teams will be eligible to compete at the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final 2023, set for Dec. 7-10, in Beijing, China.
In 2022, the United States secured 15 medals during the six Grand Prix events and four senior medals at the Grand Prix Final with Team USA winning a medal in each discipline for the first time in U.S. history.
The complete list of athlete selections for the 2023 Grand Prix Series is available on
